Seating plan for a christening
At a christening all the attention goes to the baby, and the tables have to work without making extra work for the parents. This guide shows how to organise the room in four steps.

Step by step
Count who’s coming
Make the list by family and separate adults from children. This is the number the restaurant uses to prepare the menu and the high chairs.
Define the special tables
One table for the godparents, the parents and the baby, and another for the children, preferably within sight of the parents.
Seat by family
Put the mother’s family and the father’s family at nearby tables and put friends together. Anyone who doesn’t get along sits at a different table.
Create the plan in Seatalia
Choose “Christening” and the room already comes with the godparents’ table and the children’s table. Import the list and auto-seat takes care of the rest.
Near whom?
Parents move around the room a lot. A children’s table near the godparents’ table lets them keep an eye on things from a distance without leaving their seat.
What to ask the restaurant
High chairs, a children’s menu and a count of meals per table. Seatalia calculates the counts per table and per meal when the plan is final.
Frequently asked questions
Do godparents always have a table of their own?
Not necessarily. Many families seat the godparents with the parents; what matters is that they have a prominent spot.
How many seats does the godparents’ table have?
It depends on who sits there. Count the godparents, the parents, the baby and anyone else the family wants to include.
