Wedding seating plan template
A good seating plan starts with a tidy guest list. Here you have a template that opens in Excel and Google Sheets, a blank plan to print and a simple method for filling it in, table by table.

Step by step
Download the list template
The CSV already has the columns Seatalia recognises: first name, surname, group, meal, diet or allergies, adult or child and notes. Delete the three example rows before writing your list.
One person per row
Write each guest on their own row and use the same group for people in the same circle, for example “Bride’s family” or “James’s colleagues”.
Print the blank plan
Draw the tables on paper, with the seats numbered. Use a pencil: you’re going to change your mind.
Seat by circles
Start with the groups that have to sit together, the closest family, and only then fit in friends and colleagues. Leave the tricky cases for last.
Move it into Seatalia
Import the CSV and choose “Wedding”: the room already comes with a head table and round tables of 10. Auto-seat seats everyone and respects whatever you pin.
Why a CSV?
A CSV is plain text: it opens in any program, has no formulas to break and imports without friction.
If you already have the list in another format, you can also paste it straight into Seatalia from Excel, Google Sheets or a WhatsApp message.
How many tables do I need?
Divide the guests by the seats at each table and round up, without forgetting the head table. If you’d like the calculation done for you, use the table calculator.
Frequently asked questions
Does the template work with Excel and Google Sheets?
Yes. The CSV comes in UTF-8, so Excel displays accents correctly, and Google Sheets opens it with no setup.
Do I need an account to use the template?
No. The template is free and Seatalia also lets you start the plan without an account.
Move the list onto the tables
